An early start here, with a school run and a breakfast appointment with my professor of chemistry friend. We shall have a surreal conversation which, if anyone is eavesdropping, might appear rather alarming. It will be filled with potions, pastes, metals, gases, smells and explosions and hopefully a lot of fun. Makes a change from the usual 'don't forget your games kit' stuff.
Then I'll be watching some splendid historical drama, namely 'The White Queen' written by Philippa Gregory. Philippa is on today and tells the tale of Elizabeth Woodville, the queen consort of Edward IV and mother of the Princes in the Tower. It is 1464 and war rages between the House of York and The House of Lancaster; time for love, betrayal, death, splendid frocks, lac,y flouncy shirts and flowing locks (I haven't seen it yet but it's a good guess). Philippa wrote The Other Boleyn Girl and is quite the woman of the moment-you might have noticed the odd ad or 2 for this new drama!
And how about Winnie the Pooh oldies? I was wondering about this this week when the Winnie app turned up , putting all the AA MIlne stories on phones everywhere. Then I saw a photo of President Obama with Chinese President Xi Jinping in a classic Pooh and Tigger pose (Jinping as Pooh, Obama as Tigger) and it was a certainty. One day we'll do summer oldies, but not in the foreseeable future...
Have a top notch and noble Wednesday, see you after 5.
