(and highly recommended too)
A marvellous Monday beckons, a day full of promise and sparkle. I have no basis for that statement at all but it seemed an encouraging way to begin the week. We had a weekend of dog walks which is something of a turn up as we don't have a dog. But we were borrowing my mother's so we enjoyed an introduction to the world of plastic bags, dog food and smiling walkers. Followed by Morecambe and Wise Part 2 on the TV. I have become my parents.
Today we welcome the rather excellent Simon Singh. Top maths man, top scientist and all round good guy. He used to work at CERN, had a huge hit with Fermat's Last Theorem and now has written 'The Simpsons And Their Mathematical Secrets'. It turns out the Simpsons is bristling with maths jokes, maths comment and general geekiness. Who knew? Well mathematicians (obvs) and the whole show seems to have been written by folk who want to 1) make you laugh and 2) make jokes about π. Simon after 6.
And (again obvs) Maths and/or Simpsons oldies please for your general entertainment. Thanks.
Have a chipper and chirpy Monday, see you after 5.
