Take good care of yourself etc there's one of those wintry bursts a blowin'. A lovely way to start the week- don't you think? Hope the weekend was a fine one. Child 2 shipped out to Uni again, so our ship feels unbalanced for a while, so many a few days of wistful sighs (though a welcome lack of Kadashaian-based TV to be honest). So we fill the spaces with books, books and more books. Today we have another book club choice for you - Wake by Anna Hope. It is set over 5 days in November 1920 and follows the lives of 3 women as the country waits for the arrival of the Unknown Soldier. She wanted to write about World War 1 from the perspective of the women who lived through it-you can check out a chapter while you're here. It's Anna's debut! And she's been in Doctor Who as Novice Hame! Don't miss her after 6.
And how about FLAT SHARING oldies? Middle-aged 40 somethings are returning to flat sharing due to house prices, divorce etc. It's not just a student, young free and single thing anymore. Lets queue for that bathroom! Write your name on your milk! Such fun!
