School run complete, coffee intake already on max. 2 cups onlybefore the switch to green tea happens. I could happily drink coffee all day but coffee is sinful and green tea is virtuous. Cream eggs sinful, broccoli virtuous. Treacle tart sinful, a selection of fresh fruit virtuous. Thats the way it is, even if it is dull, dull, dull.Maybe there's a parallel universe where all that stuff is good for you, along with 20 fags before lunch. Until then, my broccoli and cottage salad awaits with a glass of water for pudding (my generic diet cola Lenten abstinence continues, saving me pounds and much caramel extract and artificial sweetener and all that natural goodness).

Today we roll on with your Drivetime team from 5, oiled and oven ready (wherever you're going with this analogy stop now). Top actor John Simm is with us to talk about new drama 'The Village'. It tells the story of life in one Derbyshire village through 100 years and John plays an angry and bitter farmer who you could stay isn't the best husband and father. My guess is John will be happy to talk work for a few minutes but then would much rather talk about The Beatles and Manchester United, his 2 big passions. Happy with the former, will try to avoid the latter. We should have a go at VILLAGE LIFE oldies I think, all things associated with being a villager. But if some Beatles tracks could be picked it would give us a happier guest.

Have a finely-tuned and well-balanced Tuesday, see you at 5.
