They won’t be here for long so I shall enjoy the screeching swifts while I can. There might be other bird song out there but if there is, it has been drowned out. Maybe the other birds have drifted off, frustrated that the show-biz, flashy, TopGun-style swifts have been hogging the limelight again. Give me a swift over those hooligan robins any day. (or an Eider Duck come to that).
Foodie Thursday brings us some of Marco Pierre Whites’s Tart Au Citron. I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur (thanks you spellcheck) of lemon tarts. There is NOTHING more annoying than paying for and consuming a lemon tart that then fails to deliver in the lemon department. I mean really. I want it TART and I want it CITRON. That is all. I trust NB will hit the spot.
