And we're off. Another top week lined up (take my word for it, the team is red hot) and a nation awaits (enough grandstanding). A fine weekend had here (if you discount the rugby and the football in its entirety) and the Cambridge Science festival was great fun. A few years ago I took child 3 to a talk there and never thought for a minute I'd be standing up on the same stage of a prestigious Cambridge University to address a crowd of keen readers/listeners/passers by. It was a great audience, full of families and great questions. My professor of chemistry colleague from UCL Andrea Sella made some fabulous bangs and smells to thrill and surprise and then we all went home. 3 more schools to visit this week but today the luxury of a home blog. I'm easily pleased.

Top conductor and composer Carl Davis today talking about playing music for Charlie Chaplin movies. He's done it a lot and conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra this week in Modern Times. He wrote the music for TV shows like Far Pavillions and Pride and Prejudice, orchestrated for Paul McCartney but it is silent movies he is particularly noted for. He's on at 6 and CONDUCTORS oldies works for me...

Have a positive and enthralling Monday, see you after 5.
