Everything's coming up roses

Managed a movie, a birthday do, a farewell and, shamefully, two burgers. One would have been fine but then one-ordered ahead of time and then forgotten-arrived and that was that. A week of broccoli atonement beckons. Beach ready? I'm working on it. There are always healthier options but when the moment comes, the 'summer salad with anchovies and wilted spinach on a bed of shredded cabbage' never quite tempts enough. My childish tastes take over again...
Monday sparkles today as we can offer you the terrific Imelda Staunton, star of the West End revival of Gypsy. It is the quintessential American musical, based loosely on the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee and concentrating on her mother, Rose. She is the archetypal show business mother, crazily ambitious, dominant and scary. Imelda dominates the whole show, is barely off stage and no one is left in any doubt as to why Stephen Sondheim himself asked her to take the role. She's quite brilliant and you can hear her tonight!
So I'm thinking SHOW BUSINESS and VAUDEVILLE for your oldie picks. What have you got then?
