A few more miles to travel today. All the team are off to Cheltenham where the literary festival is in full swing (and swing is actually what book festivals do. I was at the Bath Festival on Saturday and we swung rather enthusiastically I have to say). I would have been tempted to have a pyjama day today but I fear that wouldn't go down well with the good burghers of Cheltenham. This is especially true as I messed up a wash yesterday which dyed everything a rather beautiful shade of pink. I've tried it but it's not really my colour.
2 book clubs today!! We have a children's version with Charlie Higson first. He has the sixth book in his Enemy series out called 'The Hunted' and terrifying they are too. And 'children' is a loose term when it comes to these books. These are zombie books with as much gore as you can possibly imagine. Not for the faint-hearted! Then it's David Nicholls with his follow up to One Day, and it is called 'Us'. Five years in the making its the story of a marriage in crisis. Scientist Douglas, artist Connie and their son are the 'us' trying to keep it together. It is as brilliantly observed as you would imagine- hear what our reviewers make of it tonight. And read a chapter here to get you in the mood.
And we might just manage US themed songs to scatter around the place.
And I'll pack my pink PJs in case they've become this autumn's big thing.
