And a happy Monday to you. I can report a weekend of indulgence. There will be a reckoning of course but in the meantime I can report a new culinary delight. A bacon and egg banjo. Maybe you've all had one and I'm just the last to take part but it's a grand idea. It was essentially just a bacon and egg sandwich on sourdough bread with lashings of homemade brown sauce but it's called a banjo because of the strumming/wiping action your hand makes as you wipe the spilled sauce from your chest. Not an everyday treat it has to be said but it certainly hit the spot. I'll tell Nigel.
Today it's book club time with The One by John Marrs. Based on the idea that a discovery has shown that we share our DNA with just one other person on the planet. So we have a perfect match somewhere and now you can find out who that is. If you're married to someone else, then it all gets rather messy. We follow 5 characters who go through the process and messy is about right. There's a chapter here, then catch John after 6.
And, as is traditional, your WIMBLEDON oldies please! It's all kicking off again down in SW19...
