Eats shoots etc

Too many chips, too many pies. A weekend at the Greenbelt festival in Cheltenham talking books etc and eating no veg/fruit at all. This outrage has to stop. Broccoli-raw and unfettered- must be consumed without fail before this bacon sandwich gets anywhere near my mouth.
So on the one hand the summer is over- schools back in Scotland, uniforms washed everywhere else- on the other it's a week of sun and warmth. And we haven't had the Hyde Park extravaganza just yet. So we snatch a few more days of warmth where we can before the shorts get folded away and the chunky jumpers are dusted off (although it does occur to me that they would cover up a few more bacon sarnies than their summer equivalent).
A shorted week then and a lovely show today with one of my favourite guitarists Martin Simpson in after 6. He's had 26 Folk Award nominations in 12 years and has just charted for the first time with his album 'Vagrant Stanzas'. He is a splendid storyteller and you should enjoy his company after 6 today.
And oldies please for the GIANT PANDA. Tian Tian in Edinburgh Zoo has been piling on the weightand is smearing herself with honey. This, as you doubtless know, are classic signs of pregnancy and cubs are expected this week. Probably. Songs please!
Have a chipper and graceful Tuesday, see you after 5
