I’m not sure about you, but for a moment-a fleeting moment- there was a patch of warm sun yesterday. It was in the garden around 4pm and I think it lasted for at least 5 minutes. But maybe I’m imagining it... maybe I slept heavily.. the first apple crumble the season was particularly fine…anyway it seemed lovely while it lasted. There might be some more on the way apparently but I wouldn’t bank on it.
I hope your weekend had some fine moments. A new coffee machine got baptised here. The old one had been leaking buckets for weeks so it’s passing was not mourned. Caffeine intake may well peak this week before falling back to acceptable levels.
Book club today with another brilliant offering. It is Black Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin and it really is something. A debut ladies and gentlemen! A debut! A thriller that will have you pinned to your seat for however long it takes you to get through the 350 pages. Tessa is the only survivor of a killer who is now locked up. But the case is reopened and she is haunted by memories of the attack and fears for her own daughter. Enough. Read a chapter here then hear Julia tonight after 6
And oldies? Well those incredible stones they’ve discovered at Durrington Walls north of Stonehenge is apparently a ‘superhenge’. It’s one of the biggest stone monuments in Europe and we never knew it was there. So let’s hear it for the PREHISTORIC MONUMENTS AND ARCHEOLOGISTS with their own anthems...
