Cold and gloomy and wet and miserable here but coffee is on the way so all will be well. Good to be back yesterday, I do like my job quite a bit you know. Part of me would never go on holiday and expand the show to at least 6 hours a day but this is rampant megalomania of course and would seem unfair on my colleagues (and the audience, I must concede). So I must make do with the 2 hours and get on with it. And today I am up betimes to go and watch the remake of The Evil Dead. This is not what I would choose to be watching but its director is on the film show so I shall watch it for you. My horror-loving friend will be loving every minute of course. [Breaks for coffee]
Then I'm in the rather odd position of being interviewed by a number of American radio stations about I**H. Over there they have real DJ Names- my hosts will be Tron Simpson and Nikki Thunder. No Simon’s and Jeremy’s to be found there. I shall be live in Roanoke, Virginia and Sioux City, Iowa in between Classic Hits and News/Talk and that kind of thing. I'll send them your best and tell them you said hi. New bloggers from Virginia and Iowa would be welcome! I shall be buying some ribs and donuts to mark the moment.
Today on the show the wonderful Georgie Fame will be with us (Sally's heart misses a beat). The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde was one of the first songs I remember learning the words to and could act it out in my bedroom if requested. Which it wasn't really but I might try it again today. Georgie is at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in May and the Glasgow International Jazz Festival in June but most importantly he's on Drivetime tonight. Have a clear-headed and bright-eyed Tuesday, see you after 5
