Spicy Relish with Onion

Here again. Weekend gone, another Monday to defeat and send scurrying back to its corner. A month till Christmas but only 27 days till the nights get shorter again. These numbers matter even if winter hasn't started just yet. I tweeted this fact a while back and was amazed how people fell on this information, clearly in need of some good news. Ring out those Solstice bells!

Actually it felt a bit like Christmas this weekend as their aren't many days when three generations sit around watching TV. But we had compulsory Dr Who time on Saturday, watching the show itself and then the Mark Gatiss drama from Thursday. Both fantastic. It takes something big to get us all watching together but then the Morecambe and Wise doc started and we were off again (Homeland recorded, Match of the Day avoided). Is it Boxing Day?

On the assumption it isn't, we'll offer you another first class legal thriller with 'Identical' by Scott Turow. This is a gripping tale of dark family rivalries, shadowy politics and hidden secrets. And people called called Zeus and Kronon and things like that. Scott at 6.

And oldies please (a favourite topic really). Michael Morpurgo has suggested that schools should have a 'story time' part of the day, when they just sit and listen and contemplate with no tests on the way. This seems (I think) a relatively uncontroversial idea. So STORYTIME songs please will do some of his work for him.

Have a cheer-filled and thoroughly lovely Monday, see you after 5.
