...that's week one completed and not too painful all things considered. A big Friday coming up with 2 shows on the way. First up the movie show on 5L with special guest Leonardo DiCaprio, star and producer of The Wolf Of Wall Street. It is the most 18 certificate mainline film you'll have seen, telling the story of Jordan Belfort, former stock broker who went to prison for assorted fraud crimes. He had so much money coming in, he only had vice to spend it on. So think Caligula working in high finance and you're not far off. Anyway LDC (as know one calls him) was a delightful guest as you can hear today. He smoked an electronic cigarette throughout and was happy to pose for a photo after-usually a sign that all is well. And if you look like him and have make up and wardrobe (something Radio 2 has cut back on) all should be well...
Then it is the main business of the day at R2 with your ARF ready to go. We'll need a top song from this weeks year of choice which is 1966. This is when Camberwick Green started, the world cup is stolen, discovered by Pickles the dog, then won by Bobby and the boys, and Time magazine uses the phrase 'Swinging London' for the first time. So how about something swinging to kick the show off? What have you got from 1966?
