Breaktime

Morning all, sunny, cool with a tendency to be disappointing here. Managed to reach the beach, try new beers and fly a drone. The beach trip didn't last long as the wind and rain decided to pile in and spoil things, one of the beers was an orange wheat beer which was a surprise and the drone flying was a triumph- I managed a hight of 3 feet and a distance of 30 feet. Previously I have only managed an in-kitchen affair, settling briefly on the fridge then then finally parking itself on the Good Morning Sunday Cookbook (a collectors gem, nice pic of Rev Roger Royle on the front).

So here we go for a new week of fine Drivetime shows, individually tailored for your personal pleasure. We're going to have a Tunesday tomorrow (advance prep time now available) and it's Book Club time today, looking at Jackie Copleton's A Dictionary of Mutual Understanding. You can read a chapter here. This is Jackie's debut and has been 20 years in the making, beginning when she taught in Nagasaki. It is the story of Amaterasu who, 40 years after the dropping of the atomic bomb on her home city, has a visitor who claims to be her grandson, who she was sure perished on August 9th 1945. Miracle? Cruel hoax? It's a fabulous story and Jackie is on after 6.

And as we all come to terms with the news that One Direction are taking a year off, we shall do 'TAKING A YEAR OFF' tunes. HIATUS hits, SABBATICAL songs etc. Choose those tunes!

Blog comments will be available here in future. Find out more.
