Well how lovely to be back in the saddle again. Enjoyed the hols, tanned and gorgeous etc but when you come back to some Local Hero, a quick chat about introverts, a big thriller in the bookclub and some Stevie Ray Vaughn to finish, that's some job really. I could happily just do a 5 hour show everyday to be honest, although other programmes might have something to say about that. The 'Quiet' book was a particular joy. The 5 minutes we had with Susan Cain didn't do justice to a great, stimulating and inspiring book which is full of people, stories and facts you want to share with anyone around you. In a quiet way obviously. We in the media are part of the problem of course as we only honour the fast and the loud but maybe Susan has started a gentle revolution, a thoughtful revision, a contemplative insurgence (enough thesaurus thanks).
Today we have 2 new dragons from Dragons Den. Piers Linney is featured in the JP Morgan and Thomson Reuters Top 100 most influential black people in Britain list in 2013. His twitter Bio flash describes him as a “Virgin Galactic Future Astronaut” ! And Kelly Hoppen is an award winning interior designer. Between them they are shaking up the den and you can hear them after 6.
And Dragon's Den oldies? I think so.
Have an easy-going, pleasure-filled Tuesday, see you after 5
