Hey. I remember how this works. It's Radio 2's daily Drivetime blog! Cranking back into life and raring to go. And is that a total of 2276 posts whilst I've been away? Good grief! My guess of 781 was appalling but thanks for keeping everything buzzing here and thanks to Amol for sitting in for 3 weeks.
I have been, in no particular order, down a volcano, inside a glacier, reading, writing, editing, eating chips and pizza. And attending to compulsory family time with the added excitement of hovering over Mrs M's broken arm. All very relaxing obviously.
So now all things return to normal and the Book Club is back with a fabulous little book Tin Man by Sarah Winman. Now Sarah has been on before with When God Was A Rabbit but this story (and tiny at 195 pages) is a beautifully written, heartbreaking love letter to kindness, friendship, loss and living (that last bit is from the cover in case you were thinking I'd gone soppy). I loved it and Mrs M loved it too, especially as it's so light, it's ideal for those operating with one good arm. Read a chapter right here!
And oldies? You still up for this? Well it's a big total eclipse across a swathe of the US which will make it one of the most viewed in recent years. So ECLIPSE oldies please BUT Bonnie Tyler is being played by Ken (yay Ken!) so no Total Eclipse of the Heart. Everything else is up for grabs.
And we're off!
