all round really. Firstly to Nathan Filer who last night won the Costa big prize for Shock of the Fall. At a glittering in London's west end (yeah yeah blah blah) Nathan sneaked it passed all the favourites to take the 30K prize. Drivetime listeners have know about this book since May when it was our Book Club choice-see the cheery photo on the Book Club pages! We are hoping to catch up with him today if his feet have landed on planet earth. Actually I suspect that they have as he appears to want to carry on being a mental health nurse in Bristol, so respect is due. It really is a stand out novel.
Top show planned here as Sheryl Crow arrives with her new album to play and a guitar to strum. It is precisely the album you want her to make, full of big choruses and plenty of twangy attitude. We go back many years you know you know to Radio 1 days and this sounds it could be her biggest album for many years. Ms Crow after 6.
And songs about TABLE MANNERS if you will. There's a new guide to modern mealtime etiquette out which includes the following: talking is compulsory, it's ok to get messy, try anything new once, hold your knife and fork however is comfortable etc. WHATEVER NEXT?So your songs on table manners please would be a lovely tea-time accompanimentdon't you think...
