School run complete (not many more to go now), coffee re-heated and a show to consider. And bloggers in need of a posting. So disappointment at the lack of golds last night for Ken and Chris (and bro)-awards are hugely over rated and count for nothing. But congrats to Dermot and Steve L for theirs - awards are the perfect way of measuring your achievement against your fellow professionals. All of the above is true, you just take which bit you fancy depending on what actually happened.
So today we have a TUNESDAY, an opportunity to play some longer songs that normally get a look in (apart from when they do). This started when we had a last minute guest drop-out and wanted to fill in style. It proved popular enough to try to do it deliberately. And what is great is that even though everyone suggesting the epic songs almost certainly own them anyway, there is still a thrill in hearing them on the radio. So we'll try and do it again today.
And we'll try WRITER'S BLOCK oldies please (if the long songs don't get you). Writer Dan Brown is on the show next week and he has claimed he overcomes writers block by hanging upside down on a bar (or somesuch). Being stuck, becalmed is never fun and deeply frustrating but only writers grace the idea with a title. Everyone else just gets on with it. And don't say you wanted to contribute something but just couldn't get anything out...
Have a free-flowing and clear-thinking Tuesday. See you after 5.
