Oh I say

Cloudy and cool here and 16 degrees C is 61F which is still autumnal. Busy weekend here, Mrs M was exhibiting at Rufford in Notts where there is an annual ceramic fair and I was at the Lowdham Book Festival just down the road. Trying to sell delicate ceramic art in a wild and unpredictable wind is a tough job but the Dunkirk spirit took over and there was a great camaraderie amongst the huddled. You knew that the sound of a crash somewhere indicated someone might have lost their profit for the weekend. meanwhile the village of Lowdham manages its own book festival which is quite something. My old Radio Nottingham colleague John Holmes and I chatted on stage like the 2 old radio guys we are. And there was cake taken too.

So another week (shorter! Glastonbury trumps the ARF!) and some more lovely guests for you, starting with top American thriller writer Jeffery Deaver. The last time he was on it was to discuss his James Bond story Carte Blanche but this time we have another Lincoln Rhyme investigation called The Kill Room. It is another holiday read suggestion I think and you won't be disappointed.

And I think you can't go wrong with some more WIMBLEDON oldies as another fortnight of SW19 beckons.

Have a neat and well ironed Monday, see you after 5
