So long darkness!

For anyone still working, the most common response you get on the phone or email is 'sorry the office is closed'. Obviously this doesn't apply to the schools of Dundee which are still going, still finding important things to teach, all the way up till lunchtime today. How they must have bridled as the schools of England and Wales broke up and the pupils and teachers celebrated. 'Hooray for the end of term!' they called, 'happy holidays, let's go to the pub ' (teachers not pupils obviously). Other Scottish schools broke up yesterday, but not Dundee, so respect to them, the vanguard of the super-educated. Enjoy your end of term! Happy holidays! Let's go to the pub! I think that'll be all schools closed now, unless you know to the contrary...(sounding a bit like That's Life for a moment).

Anyway we had more top songs and fine calls yesterday. And lovely to get some Barclay James Harvest away and the Joni Mitchell sounded lovely (actually it was a bit distorted, but we are looking into that). And the young girl who chose Stevie Wonder song, that was a moment. Paul Gambaccini played a new version of that song last Saturday but they wanted the original and that's what they got. Starting Radio 2 listeners early! More today. More room for the overlooked songs from 5.
