Friday-ness is a fine feeling, with that Christmas Eve sense of what the next couple of days might hold. They might hold nothing very much to be honest but that can be rather splendid as well. Because nothing-very-much on a Saturday means some YOU time with a book/bath/lie-in/TV/meal/lawn mower. And so on. Meantime some work to be done...

Films first with director Ava DuVernay the director of A Wrinkle In Time talking about her new film which features a remarkable performance from 14 year old Storm Reid. Then it’ll be ARF with 2007 selected as your opening year of requirement. I know, its just yesterday. Farewell to Grandstand after 50 years on BBCTV, there’s a new Wembley stadium and the last Harry Potter was published, with thousands of copies of Deathly Hallows selling in minutes. At the movies it’s No Country For Old Men, Atonement and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix...and on the radio? Who remembers what?
