And we’re back…

So the heating is off now but really what a week. I realise the west had a lovely time but the east was not blessed with anything beyond about 12 degrees. But given that there was some serious writin’ and serious revisionin’ going on, that wasn’t the end of the world. Some fine chips and bacon sarnies were taken. I twitched a little at 5pm thinking I should definitely be somewhere else however…

So now it's June 6th and here we are again, hoping all good here. Back to school here, back into the routine and back to the Book Club with My Name Is Leon by Kit de Waal. There’s a chapter right here should you fancy it. It’s an amazing debut about a mixed race 9 year old called Leon, fostered in the early 80s, while his white baby brother is adopted. As the blurb says, a brother chosen, and a brother left behind. Don’t miss this one, Kit from 6.

And Saturday saw Matt at ACDC with Axl Rose as the frontman. And Sunday your Drive Time friends were at The Boss at Wembley. It was wonderful of course, the audience so excited, Bruce, so happy and boy that man delivers. I had my wristband (going up), I had child 1 and a beautiful summer evening. He picked out (as he does) a really cute girl aged about 10 who had a poster which said ‘Tomorrow I have to go to school but for now I’m Waiting on a Sunny Day’ Cue ‘Waiting On A sunny Day’ Later he danced with guy who’s poster said ‘Would you dance with Courtney Cox if he was a man with a beard?’ this is a reference to Bruce’s Dancing in the Dark video in which CC gets the nod to do the dance on stage. Well this time it was big guy with a big beard.Very funny and all rather memorable.

So with the Paul Simon album freshly out (going up) and all these gigs, with all the summer concerts on the way GOING TO GIGS oldies perlease...
