Spare a tanner (not a tenner)?

Lovely Friday today. It’s our reward for good behaviour. Treats are allowed, calories don’t count. Treat yourself to at least another jelly baby (black or green always best) then maybe a cream soda or two. A little bit of work first as 2 shows beckon…Films first with Colin Firth talking about his new movie Kingsmen. I thought it was going to be like Spy Kids, a light hearted James Bond pastiche. It only took a few minutes-during which destruction and death reigned-to realise that I was so wrong. It’s ultra-violent, high-end 15 certificate stuff and rather funny too. And Colin is class, as ever.

Then the walk around the corner to ARF central where extensive research has uncovered 1971 as our target year for a stylish opening. We had the first Reading Festival ‘for jazz and progressive music’, Mr Tickle is the first Mr Men book, and there’s that decimalisation thing. Goodbye wild and flamboyant shillings, florins and half crowns. Hello boring new pence. Who has a 1971 favourite to start everyone’s Friday evening?

See you at 2&5
