I’ll be there, yeah

Ok well done everyone, we made it to Friday. A milder weekend on the way and that spring wardrobe can only be days away surely. Might need to give pies a miss for a while as National Pie Week can only be celebrated very occasionally. Nigel’s chicken and tarragon pie last night was a spectacular success but it’s time for a pastry-free weekend.

So today its a movie show with Rooney Mara talking about her new film Mary Magdalene, with Joaquin Phoenix playing Jesus. It’s also the last movie with a soundtrack by Johann Johannsson who passed away last month. Then we’ll hop over to R2 Central for another ARF and we kick off with 1991. This is when top scientist Tim Berners-Lee introduces the WorldWideWeb with the first website going online on the 6th August, Bryan Adams is number 1 for ever and Alan Bennett’s new play The Madness of King George III premieres in London. At the movies it’s Terminator 2, The Silence of the Lambs and (obviously) Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. And on your radio? Line up the hits!
