A swell Friday to you all, all primed and ready to go here. It is clear the words ‘country dancing’ still have the power to send shudders down the nation’s spine. It’s the forced pairing-off at such tender age which clearly still rankles, never mind the nimble stripping of the willow. I assumed it was gone and forgotten by now,how wrong can you be!

2 shows kicking off with Annette Benning, star of 20th Century Women. And what a film! Set in 1979, it has a soundtrack full of The Clash, Ramones, Talking Heads etc and a warm, generous, funny, melancholic and wise script. Go see. Then we ARF with 1974 selected as you opening year. Tom Baker replaced Jon Pertwee as Dr Who, Brian Clough was appointed then sacked as manager at Leeds Utd and CEEFAX turned up on our screens for the first time. At the cinema its Blazing Saddles, The Towering Inferno and the wonderful Young Frankenstein. And on your radio?Tonight at 5,05?
