Have Cape, Wear Cape (Again)

Well I’m still here. Driving it all home till Christmas Eve! Even though I have been deserted by Matt (too excited) and Rebecca (too busy setting up her empire), someone has to keep his hand to the festive tiller (not sure that works). A strange week though where everyone seems to be on holiday and because Christmas Day is Friday (a useful reminder) there is SO much stuff to do. We managed a family Star Wars trip which was a delight. Partly this was because everyone loved the film but also because as the movie started, a man dressed as a Jedi stood and saluted the screen with his glowing lightsaber. Cheers and applause all round!
Anyway, it is actually a rather fine time to work on a radio show and we shall fill it with wonderful things. It’ll be a sort of All Request Christmas with bells and whistles and sport and travel and bells. Plus today our seasonal visit from Rick Wakeman and his merry tunes. This began back in the 5 Live days when we got Rick to come in and cast his fairy dust in a tough, sparkle-free news studio. Since then he’s become an annual fixture and who knows what tunes he’ll bring for Christmas 2015? (actually Rick might not know just yet to be honest)
And right here I would LOVE to know the other Christmas tunes that the bloggers love. You know that we’ll be playing the hardy regulars but there are so many tunes which get ignored that now seems the time to correct that. So if there is a Christmas song you’ve loved for years but that rarely gets a look in, now’s your moment. Song plus any reasons would be lovely.
