Before you break my heart

Keeping calm and carrying on. How about you? A two-show Friday again with Gary Oldman starring on the film show, talking about his much lauded role as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour. There’s latex aplenty sure, but this Churchill will be one of the best you’ve seen. It does contain one ludicrous scene on the Underground where the PM chats with ‘common people’ who tell him everything he wants to hear but that aside, its a riveting drama.

And then to the ARF studios with a bag full of snacks to sustain the hard-working through till 7pm. 5.05 kicks off with 1965 is our opening year of requirement when the wonderful Thunderbirds starts on TV and Corgi’s best selling car, the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger is released (what a joy that was! Ejector seats and everything!) and the enchanting Magic Roundabout makes its debut on BBCTV. At the movies its Dr Zhivago, The Sound of Music and The Ipcress File. And on your radiogram? What fab and groovy 45s shall we spin for you hipsters?
