Another lovely morning here, hope the same or similar with you. A silly, breathless day coming up with interviews coming up every 10 minutes and guests and features all over the place. There's a show at the end of the day of course and my sprint/cross country run begins any minute now. If I'm breathless come 5 o'clock you'll know the reason why. I'm recording a chat with The Eagles today (or 2 of them anyway, we'll see who turns up) which you can hear next week. The History of the Eagles is the most exhaustive history of a band I've ever seen and I'm only half way through! After the Deep Purple boys yesterday this is turning into a big 70s week. It is fascinating to watch who ages well and who doesn't; some of these guys look fantastic in the mid-70s and nearly dead now. Others still look great. Don Henley looks good, Ian Gillan looks good. Joe Walsh looks (surprisingly) chipper. Genes, diet and partying is what one imagines are the main factors here but who knows.
Today it's Monty Don, top gardener, to talk about all things green but particularly French gardens which he loves. He'll pop round to my place later to help my post-trampoline trauma. But even he will give up in despair and put in decking.
And songs of PEACE and PEACEFULNESS as new work suggests the UK is a more peaceful place than it used to be with violent crime here dropping quicker than anywhere else. So bravo. If that doesn't put a song in out hearts than I don't know what will. Tunes please!
Have a mellow and smily Wednesday, see you after 5
