I've been watching

... Death Comes To Pemberley. I didn't see it at Christmas, leaving it to the hard-core period drama types in the house. Of which there were many. It didn't really seem like my kind of thing (whatever that might be) so doubtless made a self-rightous show of clearing and washing up while it was on.Well I was SO wrong. Rebecca Front and James Fleet playing Mr and Mrs Bennet are on the show today, so I duly sat down to disappear into PD James' Jane Austin homage. So (late as ever) I now realise why everyone so hooked. Great performances, cracking story and not a bad gaff you've got there Darcy. Rebecca may be best known for playing hapless politician Nicola Murray in The Thick Of It, James for playing dim-witted Hugo in Vicar of Dibley and they'll both be here after 6.

And how about CASTAWAY themed songs please? This is for José Salvador Alvarenga who (apparently) has survived a year adrift at sea. The shark fishermen washed up in the Marshall Islands. 6,000 miles from home in El Salvador. There are doubts about precisely what has gone on here, but it's enough of a top story to give us a new topic. So bravo everyone and carry on, castaways it is.
