Early blog, dark and gloomy here. Off to see the new Judy Dench film and then just linger around town. Might go to Radio 2 and annoy the production team as they go about their business. Or I could go shopping. Or go to the gym. Or go home and attend to all the tasks that have been waiting my attention for a few years. Ok shopping it is. I'll do a list.
Busy blog yesterday I see with much children's TV to be discussed. The shows you liked/hated define your age and era as much as your music taste. I assumed a delightful young caller to the ARF last week might have known about Bear In The Big Blue House and Bear's happy birthday song. But I was wrong. She was 6 and had never heard of it or him. If you haven't got a 6 year old in your life somewhere, you wouldn't know whether this show even exists anymore. Oh well.
Alexander Armstrong today to talk Pointless and other assorted matters. Always liked the Armstrong and Miller show and Alexander is one of those annoying people who is just effortlessly funny. Which seems unfair really but Pointless is one of those shows like Bakeoff which has moved from BBC2 to BBC 1. It's the show where players have to find correct answers and the most obscure among them. And the lowest score wins! So how about POINTLESS oldies? Will that work? Songs which are pointless? Songs about people and situations which are pointless? Songs about AA or his sidekick Richard Osman? You're in charge!
