So much love for Jeff Lynne yesterday. It’s hard to put the humble, softly spoken man you heard last night with the astonishing list of hits he has written, sung and/or produced. As we talked about yesterday, the expressions of joy you see in the film come from fans who clearly assumed they would never hear their favourite songs played live. The 14-piece band look pretty ecstatic too! (And who’d have thought that ‘Xanadu’ would have been his favourite?). Here’s to many more ELO tunes and gigs to come...

And BAD GRAMMAR songs please. The Idler Academy is announcing it’s bad grammar Awards and seeing that pop and rock tunes are littered with it, let’s do some bad grammar/poor spelling rocknroll.
