The Greatest Show on the Earth

And welcome boys and girls of the blog to another week of wonder. I can’t remember what’s happening but it’s going to be fabulous darling. The heating is still on so that is a good start. I haven’t got an illness (yet) which is also a good start. I don’t have to go anywhere on a train, ditto. Reasons to be cheerful (continued)

A weekend of travelling here, family visited, emergency veg supplies bought and traffic jams/HRH-induced road closures endured. I timed some of the travelling to perfection, coinciding with Johnnie Walker’s Sounds of the Seventies. I knew what I was doing. Here is a show to enjoy with the volume up and a smile on your face. Please don’t talk to me, please don’t call, I’m listening to JW. Even the M4 couldn’t dampen my spirits, in fact the hold-ups meant I could spend longer with this 1st class show. Good work.

Book club today with Kirsty Logan’s The Gracekeepers. It is set in a world where the sea has flooded the earth.

The two main characters are North, who lives on a circus boat, floating among the remaining islands and Callanish who lives in the middle of the ocean as a gracekeeper, tending the graves of those who die at sea. Haunting and memorable is a three-word review-read a chapter of it for yourself while you’re here. And although this circus is a world away from the traditional big top variety, I think CIRCUS tunes will be rather fine.

Roll up, roll up etc.
