Imagine being Brazilian. Or being in Brazil. Or speaking enough Portuguese to understand the headlines. That's a bad one. And the morning after is the worst of course. So bleary-eyed and exhausted you maybe but at least you're here and not there. After a while it wasn't fun was it? It just felt embarrassing and you wanted it to stop. The Germans were fabulous (top oldies too) but the Brazilians were hopeless and my specially purchased Brazilian wine (I blame Nigel) has gone back in the rack.
So today we are off to a flyer with Bellowhead calling in and celebrating their new album Revival. I might have mentioned them before. There aren't too many 11-piece bands on the circuit and none with the live reputation of Bellowhead. They might even have beaten Brazil last night.
Their new album is a fine piece of work, sticking with the traditional songs that they always play with and giving them the big band treatment. That's big band not Big Band obvs . A percentage of Bellowhead-probably the 2 Johns-will be here from 6. So we should try songs about/with SHOUTING and BELLOWING and see what happens.
