And we’re back! Hooray for Monday! None of that flabby weekend nonsense, lolling around eating bad food and giving in to slothful thoughts. No sir/madam. It’s time for some serious nose/grindstone interaction and thrill of honest work, well done. In my case that means going to see a Tom Hanks movie and then playing some records but hey, that’s harder than it sounds (no it isn’t).

I hope your weekend lived up to expectations. Now to business. The former Children’s Laureate Malorie Blackman is on the show today, equipped with her first standalone in four years. It is called Chasing The Stars and is a love story between two teenagers, based around Shakespeare’s Othello ( as opposed to anyone else’s Othello). Oh and it’s in space. And everything is Shakespeare this week with the 400th anniversary of his death on Saturday (more of which later in the week). But Malorie a national treasure who is a great story teller an you can hear her tonight after 6.

And how about THE PUB as your oldies topic? The Hairy Bikers have somehow swung a 15 (that’s fifteen) part series on the history of the public house in Britain. Songs by, in or about pubs and bars please. Just a few to choose from...
