Naming It Twice

Presenter

I have taken it easy. You could hear that I was not healthiest specimen on Friday I believe. The odd sniffle here and there, the occasional sneeze too. So apart from popping to Edinburgh and seeing some folk there, then to'Shrewsbury and seeing some more folk there, I haven't really done much at all. Watched some rugby (outrageous misfortune Scotland!), enjoyed the sights at Birmingham Airport and was offered, and accepted, fish and chips with curry sauce (sorry Nige. Oh the shame).

So invigorated from a slackers weekend, onwards into a lovely new week. It's another book club day with a lot of buzz about this week's selection. Garth Risk Hallberg's City on Fire is a monster of a book. It is vast. It's big enough to make those with back issues wait for the paperback or go for the digital download. There's a lightweight free chapter here if you fancy it. Set in the New York of the late 1970s, he says all the characters, images and events in the book came to him while listening to Miami 2017 by Billy Joel. Garth after 6.

So NEW YORK songs it is. Ooh, where to start?
