Appointment with death

Anna F|21:00 UK time, Tuesday, 9 March 2010

ep23_blog_lydia.jpgOh. My. Word. Nails bitten down the quick here - that was dark.

And tension-filled: Lee and Lydia running round the 'Inch looking for Ewan, Amber on their trail. And the bit on the scaffolding! Do you reckon Lenny would have actually killed Ewan? Brutal.

What made Lydia team up with Lee? Do you think she knew not to trust her husband? Lydia must have known, deep down, of the depths Lenny would go to - a series of shockers though! What had you gripped the most?

Bossy women battling over at the Mullen's - Molly is in need of an OAP ASBO, we reckon, but should you stick your mammy in the nick?

OMG! Poor Ewan, but i don't think that Lenny would have KILLED Ewan.He seemed genuinely shocked by what happened to his Son.

Amber has now lost two Brothers and Lydia now knows exactly what Lenny is capable of.

Please get RID of Molly. She is an absolutely terrible character,AND Big Bob too.

The Murdochs were a popular and strong family in river city, and one of the more believable ones,so why do this?

This storyline is remarkably similar to a certain other serial drama that we probably all watched not so long ago,so who copied who.

Can't wait until next tuesday for the aftermath of tonight's story.

RIP Ewan. You were my favourite character in river city, and the best eye candy as well.

    That was. WOW.

In a way I am glad they are bringing the Murdochs' storyline to an end. I've always respected River City for not letting plot lines drag on and on and on unlike some soaps and they could not really go on forever with the backstabbing gangster story. Something had to give (and unfortuantely for Ewan it was the scaffolding.)

So Erchie never really left Shieldinch? I think we have a good plot for Liz coming up if the police go a-digging.

Wait noo, I knew I came on here for a reason.

Mods, are there going to be set tours again this year? Had so much fun that I want to do it again!

Absolutely brilliant tonight the acting was fantastic.Youre not wrong about Molly having an asbo, boy is she some character shes so funny the things she comes out with regarding Scarlet and big Bob. I couldnt blame Scarlet for getting the police to sort her out she is some tough cookie.Very funny characters and Liz being annoyed with Molly as she was trying to chat up Malcolm, very funny one liners.Felt sorry for Raymond, and Iona bless her felt really bad moving into Ruths flat and didnt want to upset Raymond. But at least he understood why she wanted to move out once Ruth spoke to him and he will still be their for her if she ever needs anything.Poor Ewan hes going to be a big loss the storyline was excellent and the acting was excellent.Well Lenny has finally got his comeuppance especially after what Ewan told Lydia before he died.Looking forward to next week and yes i was on the edge of my seat tonight it was really good. Thanks to all the cast for a brilliant episode. Hope Lee is ok.

That was the best episode for a long time, brilliant writing but moreso the acting was absolutely brilliant, it seems to be getting better each week just now, will miss Ewan, hope they keep Lee think he will be good for Amber as I think deep down he is a decent lad, wonder if the Eddie murder will rear it's head as Lenny arranged that too, would still love to know what will happen with Versus and if the Dentist surgery will ever feature.........

Bring Tommy back soon too Pllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssseeeeeeeeee !!

The Murdoch's were fantastic in this episode, Ewan was terrific as were Lenny and Lydia. I hope it's not the end for the family as they are consistantly the best thing in RC. Also loving Molly.

Fab episode. Loved the camera angles and lighting. However, I found it difficult to bear seeing Lydia so upset. I don't know what she saw in Lenny in the first place - she should've gone for a more sensitive man. Surely the writing is on the wall for her relationship with Lenny. This is the beginning of the end of an era for River City. It's a long sentence in the Bar-L for Lenny now. Or the alternative - escaping to live the life of a retired criminal in Costa Del Sol. Will miss Euan too.

Hi Lennysboyz, we agree with you - the lighting in the flat was amazing when Ewan's death climb too place.

And we hear from the crew that, when they shot the scenes on the scaffolding, they were indeed blessed/threatenened with massive rainclouds nearby. So the dramatic lighting, which you can see in the photo above, was thanks in part to Mother Nature and her temper tantrums! It looked so threatening and unreal, didn't it? Shiver...
