Fred at the Fest: Day 8

My second week, working as a runner for MacAulay and Co. is flying by and I'm beginning to feel a little sad that the festival madness is coming to a close. This morning, after handing out audience questionnaires with the other runners and getting some banter with familiar faces, I was stationed backstage where I was to bring guests to and from the green room. Having prime position meant that I could watch all the action unfold on stage, and today's show proved to be as funny and entertaining as ever.

First up was singer songwriter Joe Stilgo who dazzled the audience with his amazing keyboard skills and witty songs. Then came the very cool Hannah Gadsby entertaining the audience with her thoughts on bungee jumping - something I can relate to! Next up were Benet Brandworth (son of Giles) and charming sketch troupe Wit Tank giving us the best impersonation of a talking horse...EVER.

More impressions were to come when impressionist extraordinaire Jonathan Watson joined Fred on the sofa to chat about his show and upcoming television work. Soon the audience got involved after Susan 'The Calminator' Calman found some willing participants, with one gentleman doing a hilarious submarine and elephant impression. I loved the Miss Marple one too - high five Maureen!

First time Fringe performer James Acaster did some stand up involving a cheese grater and on the sofa John Maloney cracked the audience up with his hilarious tale about a letter written to him by a dog. The animal theme continued with king of one-liners Tim Vine and his cat rescue by the Fire Brigade joke, which again had the audience in stitches. Also joining Fred on the sofa was Andy Parsons who chatted about his television programme, "Mock the Week" and his current performances at Edinburgh Festival.

Today's show was jam packed with amazing guests and some weird and wonderful impressions. What's in store tomorrow?! The suspense is killing me...
