Walking through the queue as I do on a daily basis, I decided to speak with the most summery people I could find: the Setterfields (no relation to Ivor of Maestro and Goldie fame) and the Apleys.

After the interview finished, it transpired they were all in fact musicians of varying stage, and are also excited to hear the Jarrell tonight.

Just had to report that having said on the blog I was looking forward to the Beethoven, I was also blown away by the Berlioz Symphonie. What forces and what playing! And the new piece by Michael Jarrell was also fabulous to hear and watch. Oh and the Beethoven more than lived up to expectations too - there was a real precision and joie de vivre about it. Bravo the BBCNOW!

    Dear Beeb,

As a Berlioz nut, I must thank you for the massive costs which you must have incurred in mounting the gigantic forces needed for both the Te Deum, and

    the Symphonie Funebre et Triomphale.

But,what a result! Both were wonderfully done, and the sheer sound in the AH,was, indeed all-embracing!

There is something majestic and compelling about Berlioz which, for me,is infectious, and I now await the Fantastique to complete this overwhelming experience,

    Thanks again, BBC

Yes, well done the Beeb for the massive forces in Berlioz, but commissioning 'Sillages' was a massive boob. Still, three good pieces out of four in a Prom ain't bad.
