Coming up with a new Olympic fact for the number 97 was never going to be easy.
I found out that the London 2012 Olympics team wants 97% of athletes to live within 30 minutes of their events and that 97% of corporate guests at the Sydney 2000 Games felt 'the Olympics are special because they don't happen every year' .
But they seemed a little dull, so I plumped for weightlifting sensation Nurcan Taylan who set a newOlympic and world record after lifting 97.5kgs in the snatch at the 2004 Athens Games to help her become Turkey's first female Olympic gold medallist.
Competing in the 48kg weight division, Taylan then clean-and-jerked 112.5kg to win with another Olympic and world record combined total of 210kg.
In all, Taylan set two World and five Olympic records in Athens.
The 24-year-old is in decent form going into Beijing, having won the 2008 European Championships in April.
Does the number 97 trigger any other Olympic memories for you?
