#Supergrass6Music – Help us celebrate 20 years of ‘I Should Coco’

Dan Cocker

Producer

On Sunday’s Now Playing (6-8pm) we’re celebrating the twentieth anniversary of one of Britpop’s finest moments – the release of Supergrass’ debut album, ‘I Should Coco’.

Packed with cheeky riffs, catchy choruses and sing-along hits, this mid nineties record collection staple launched the career – and put lamb chop sideburns firmly on the map – for Oxford’s young power pop trio Supergrass. Did you know ‘I Should Coco’ was also the biggest selling debut album for Parlophone since the Beatles' ‘Please Please Me’?

So this Sunday Tom Robinson wants your musical suggestions on how to most appropriately commemorate a 1995 vintage album, made by a bunch of jolly nice fellows.

You could choose:

* Something from the first incarnation of Supergrass, The Jennifers

* Influences such as The Jam, Buzzcocks, Madness and The Kinks.

* Solo or side stuff from the likes of Gaz Coombes, Diamond Hoo Ha Men / The Hotrats, the DB Band or Babyshambles

* Fellow mid-nineties Oxford bands such as Radiohead, Ride, Candyskins, Heavenly, Swervdriver, Talulah Gosh and most recently Foals and Stornoway.

Alright?
