#James6Music – take part in a very special James Tweet In

Kellie Redmond

Radio producer

Drum roll. We’re very excited as - in a Now Playing first - James will be performing LIVE in the studio as they to create a very special playlist with YOUR help (Sunday 15 June, 6-8pm).

But not only will Tim Booth and co. be playing tracks from their back catalogue, picked entirely by YOU. They will also be live on Twitter, chatting with you and sifting through suggestions sent in via #James6Music for additional non-live tracks you want them to play by other artists thematically linked to band, as part of this unique Now Playing event.

Since forming in 1982, 6 Music favourites James have become known for a wealth of indie anthems, including Sit Down, Come Home, Born of Frustration, Laid, She's A Star and many more. Le Petite Mort, out earlier this month, marks their 13th studio album.

For Sunday’s Now Playing show, the band will be picking tracks that they personally love to get the ball rolling from 6-6.30pm.

But then through to 8pm, it’s over to you: so get in touch with your suggestions for James tracks the band can perform live, along with other non-live tracks you'd like them to play in between.

You can pick classic James tracks, influences, collaborations or any other interesting music connections to help create what promises to be an unmissable playlist.

Get your song suggestions to the band by commenting below on this blog or on our Now Playing Facebook page, Tweet using #James6Music, add tracks to our collaborative playlists on Spotify and Rdio, or email us at nowplaying@bbc.co.uk
