For us Brits, snow usually leads to chaos on the roads, train cancellations and panic buying of toilet rolls.

But our wildlife has been having a great time - for the most part anyways! We've gathered some of the best pictures of wintry weather we've been sent over the past few weeks to show it's not all bad.

A chaffinch in the snow, captured by Gary Staffordshire. Chaffinches aren't fans of bird tables, they'd much rather feed from the ground so this time of year can be hard for them to source food.

Maria H captured these red deer wandering in the snow in Cheshire.

Gary Staffordshire captured this robin at Cannock Chase in the Midlands. Robins and snow? You'll be telling me it's Christmas next...

Sonia Johnson captured this very cold looking red squirrel braving the cold temperatures in Yorkshire.

Kathryn Cooper was in the Peak District when she captured this mountain hare in the snow.

Flickr user Ootmahoosewindae captured this pine marten in the snow in Scotland. It looks a bit perplexed at all the snow if you ask us...

It was berry cold in Richmond when David Chare captured this image of the first snow in the London suburb.

A grey wagtail explores the snow in the garden of Emma Woodhouse in Wales.

On Flickr, Philip Schofield shared this image of a nuthatch in the frost at Leighton Moss with us.

Kevin Hatfield captured this kingfisher preparing to dive into icy waters to catch a meal.
