Winterwatch for schools across the UK

Ben Morrison

Digital Producer for the Watches

Tune into a Winterwatch Live Lesson for primary schools at bbc.com/livelessons. Live at 2pm on Thursday 31st January.

Chris Packham will be linking live to primary classrooms across the UK in a wintry themed BBC Teach Live Lesson on Thursday. He’ll be taking time out of the main Winterwatch rehearsals to answer questions from schools and share the latest news on wildlife spotted by the Watches team.

The interactive programme, designed for 7-11 year olds, will be hosted from Manchester by presenters Naomi Wilkinson and Patrick Aryee, with expert wildlife biologist Lizzie Daly. We'll learn how to classify animals based on their observable common characteristics and explore how animals adapt as their environment changes in winter. We’ll also be exploring how animals cope with seasonal changes during winter with the help of a very special animal guest… a Golden Eagle called Tilly!

Do you know a school who wants to take part?

Prior to the Live Lesson, we’d like classes to explore their local area, whether it is their school, home or community, and find out what wildlife shares their space. Send your photos and questions for Chris, and shout outs to Live.Lessons@bbc.co.uk or tweet @BBC_Teach with the #BBCLiveLessons. For more info, go to the Live Lessons website.

This promises to be the wildest Live Lesson ever! We can’t wait to see you there at 2pm on bbc.com/livelessons on Thursday 31st January.
