Autumnwatch Unsprung round-up week six
Week six! How time flies. We hope you enjoyed last week's show. If you missed it you can watch Unsprung on BBC iPlayer here.
Let's start with one of the best bits of last week's show. Here's what we've been calling the montage of glory...

Our quiz this week was an etymological mystery where you had to guess the animals from their old English and regional names. If you haven't already, have a go at the quiz here.
We love getting good news and this week we had an update from our friends at Secret World who brought Casper the barn owl onto the show in week four. After our call out for other young barn owls a sanctuary in Swindon got in touch with Secret World and the two owls have now been united for the winter. Look how much Casper's plumage has changed in just two weeks!

The united owls. Casper who appeared on Unsprung programme four is on the right.
You might also remember that way back in week one we featured the story of some adorable red squirrel kittens who were being hand reared by Eileen Welsh from The Sanctuary Wildlife Care Centre in Northumberland.
Eileen has recently let us know that the squirrels have successfully been released into a pen built in the area they were first discovered. They will spend the winter in the pen while they learn to forage and will be released in the spring. They have also been visited by other red squirrels from the area which is positive. Here are some of her photos to tell the tale.

The squirrels' new pen is designed to prepare them for the wild.
Every week on Unsprung we've been rounding off the programme by telling you to get out there and get involved with wildlife on the weekends. There are loads of Autumnwatch activities on BBC Things to do. All you have to do is go to their web page and type in your postcode.
If you've got any questions for next week's Unsprung let us know by commenting below. We love seeing your pictures of autumn wildlife so add them to the Autumnwatch photo group, or if you're more handy with a camcorder then upload your wildlife home movies.
