Springwatch highlights: Mon 31st May
Each night after the show, the team pick out their favourite bits from the programme. So I thought it would be nice to share them with you here on the blog. Here we go with the highlights from the first show of the series: Simon's slo-mo hobby, the red-backed shrike and the eye-opening Dorset diversity film. We'd love to hear what your favourites were too.

However, your BBC Norfolk website says that it is almost extinct ( https://news.bbc.co.uk/local/norfolk/hi/people_and_places/nature/newsid_8718000/8718536.stm ), but it is not. It is still resident in no less than 42 European countries; see https://www.birdguides.com/species/species.asp?sp=122063. It is just that the UK is at the outer edge of its range.

Hello all. I did hear that BBC Sound Recordist Chris Watson was to feature in this years Springwatch, in particular his installation in Kew Gardens.

I was just wondering if I have missed it, or if it is palnned to be shown at a later date. I see that he is already doing the sound for Springwatch this year and I hope that he is featured at some point with his very interesting sound pieces. Please BBC, could you let me know if I can expect a feature in the coming weeks?
Oh and say hello to Chris for me, I hope to book onto another of his Sound Courses in the future (well worth it!).
Thanks...

Watch out for him in the show and we're also hoping to do more with him on the website.
