Call Of The Wild
The Grey is out this week, a film about a group of men being hunted by wolves after a plane crash strands them in the wilderness. It's being billed as 'Jaws with claws' and set me thinking about all the other creatures that have preyed on us humans in the movies. The Crying Game
There's an interview with Steven Spielberg on the Kermode and Mayo's Film Review show this Friday. He's talking about his new film War Horse and among the subjects we cover is the emotional business of crying in the cinema. What I want to know is what films have made you cry - not just the obvious tearjerkers mind you - and why? Eleven from Eleven
At the end of 2011 I posted my ten worst movies of the year. Since then a lot of people have been asking me for my list of the best. I already revealed them on the 5 Live show but here they are again plus a difficult question - since I was forced to leave out Drive, one of my favourite movies of the year, which of my choices would you lose to make way for it? Projection Party
I've frequently drawn attention to the dwindling number of projectionists in our cinemas and the awful danger of them disappearing altogether. I recently went along to their annual gathering to present an award and meet some of the last members of this esteemed profession... R...
