Today's Desert Island Disco comes from listener Samantha Cooke, who's having her very own disco at the moment as she's at Bestival. She was asked by her friend Jackie to create the ultimate playlist for her wedding, and she didn't disappoint. Remember, you can send your favourite party tracks to us any time: lauren.6msuic@bbc.co.uk. Here's Samantha to tell all:

"I was asked by my dear friend Jackie to take a turn on the decks at her wedding in July, and so spent last week digging out old playlists and mix CDs to find the most absolutely joyous tracks in existence.

I absolutely love the Desert Island Disco feature, so after all the digging it felt like the right time to send my perfect playlist further afield. Though our dancefloor was overlooking a reservoir in Hackney rather than the Pacific, I think the tunes will still suit! So here they are...

Clarion Call To The Dance Floor

1. Cheryl Lynn – Got To Be Real

The perfect song to transition from the first dances to the disco. Everyone can join in this one; from the aunts and uncles moving together like they have for the last 30 years, to the single girls cat-walking across the floor. Fab, fab, fab!

2. Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons – Beggin' (Pilooski Re-Edit)

So fun, so communal. This one had fallen off of the party playlists after I exhausted it a few years back, but I was so pleased to find it on a Mix CD and it reminded me how great it is!

3. Chromeo – Fancy Footwork

From the sirens at the start to the funky, funky groove, it's like a clarion call to the dance floor.

4. Missy Elliot – Pass that Dutch

Though eventually vetoed as "not appropriate for the Nana's", this track was there in spirit. Really, how can you leave out Missy?! The old faithful of house party tracks.

5. The Clash – Rock the Casbah

One for the stomping and the air-punching-crew!

6. Robyn – Dancing on My Own

Perfect, perfect pop. Hands in the air, every lyric shouted out in champagne-soaked bliss.

7. Alexander Holland –The Best of Me

Great horns, a conga beat that gets the hips moving, and the vocal over the top with a proper wedding sentiment. An absolute favourite of mine!

8. Lauren Hill – Doo Wop (That Thing)

An absolute classic. In my brain, the bridesmaids would be doo wop-ing with perfectly synchronized choreography.

9. Metronomy – Love Letters (Soulwax Remix)

The bride and groom had requested some Metronomy during the night, but I couldn't figure out how to work it in without the risk of clearing the dance floor. Luckily I remembered hearing James Murphy play this out, and knew it would do the trick. This is the bit where we get the serious moves in!

10. Crystal Waters – Gypsy Woman

Throwing all of the shapes. ALL of them.

11. Beyoncé – Crazy in Love

Is it possible these days to have a proper dance party without Beyoncé to help out? Not in my world, that's for sure.

12. Prince – I Wanna Be Your Lover

No party in the entire universe is complete without this track. Did people actually have fun before this existed?"
