Today's Memory Tape comes from Mye Butler, and we must admit we do have a soft spot for alternative wedding playlists on this show. And as the sun is shining, why not let's a boogie:
I have had help compiling this memory tape from my friend Michael Culleton, who happens to be my husband Eoin’s cousin and a huge music fan like me - I just live and breathe music.
Michael lives in Wexford, Ireland, and when I’m not visiting in Ireland we are always messaging each other sending each other links to YouTube videos for new artists and bands. Eoin and I got married in September 2011 and, being the massive music fans that we are, created most of our wedding playlist (with some input from Michael of course) and passed this to the DJ for playing after our band had finished. We knew a lot of it wouldn’t really be the stereotypical wedding type of music, however, it went down a storm! Since then, we managed to put together another playlist again at a New Year’s Eve party last year; a few classics from the wedding made an appearance as well as some new tracks from artists we had recently discovered, either by hearing them on the radio or seeing them at festivals. This mix reminds me of all the good times celebrated over the past two and a half years.
