MEMORY TAPES: 17 May 13

Today's Memory Tapes comes from Claire Morrison, who made a tape for her friends but never got to listen to it with them **sad face**. Here are her Memory Tapes in her own words:

“A few weeks ago our good friend Ali made the jump from 20s to 30s. His wife Sally organised the most wonderful surprise party for him in a wee place near Aviemore.

They kindly offered to give us a lift up from Edinburgh, and knowing that we would be at the mercy of the usual car radio I volunteered to make us an awesome playlist in order to make it The Best Car Journey Ever.

“Some are great, some are silly, some bring happy memories (both couples first dances are on there - I'll leave it to your imagination).

“The Friday we were supposed to leave I awoke at 2am and spent the whole morning being ill. I was devastated. I had to take a rain check on the car journey and sent them all away without me. Thankfully, due to this being the future and that, my husband Ryan had the playlist with him and so they listened to it the whole journey. My morning in my sick bed was made great by all the texts I received from Sally as the playlist revealed itself.

“Eventually I got myself together, got on a train and joined them all there. When I arrived I was treated to stories about all the memories the songs had brought back.

“It was a brilliant weekend in the end, we are all 30 somethings now and I'm looking forward to seeing how different the playlist will be for his 40th. I really look forward to memory tapes every week. Mine isn’t as cool as some I’ve heard but I love it, and I'm still listening to it when I'm running!”
